For anyone looking for a residential treadmill to use at home for light training, a heavy duty treadmill for a commercial setting such as a school or a gym, an advanced unit with multiple features for intense running or simply a treadmills that folds, The Treadmill. The treadmill came in a large box and was very heavy. It probably would be wise to plan to have some help when it arrives if you have to move it from where they drop it off. It has several programs. The incline and speed can be adjusted easily. The manual is clear and it is easy to figure out how the treadmill.
While we can’t fault the outstanding warranty, the powerful motor, or the cushy deck, the appearance of the T360 isn’t going to attract the hard core treadmill enthusiast. It does come with a heart rate monitor and roomy running area, but the features are just basic. But is the Trimline T360 really the better investment when compared to other treadmill brands?

The Buzz
UPDATE: Trimline treadmills are no longer being produced. Check out our Best Treadmills $1000-$2000 section to find a comparable model.
The simple design of the Trimline T360 treadmill looks almost retro, but not in a good way. It reminds you of the treadmills you saw at the gym — 15 years ago.
You can’t dog the motor on these Trimline treadmills for reliability but, overall, better value can be found elsewhere. The T360 is okay for daily walkers; it should not be considered for use by serious runners.
Most users don’t mind the plainness of the Trimline T360’s design, but they do mind that the motor housing is too close to the running area directly under the control console.
If you tend to hit the front of your shoes on the plastic shroud just above the deck this could be a problem. You want the plastic housing for the treadmill motor to be well out of kicking range as you run or if you tend to take long strides while walking.
What We Say
Standing behind their Trimline treadmills with a 30 year warranty, the company is proud of their motor design and believes it will give you reliable performance year after year.
But while this seems like a promising model as a mid-priced machine, it has the same niggly economy look as less expensive Trimlines.
The Trimline T360 treadmill is overpriced if you have to pay more than $2000, but could be considered a good choice if you are a casual walker purchasing your first treadmill.
Trimline Treadmill Reviews
We just aren’t sure what to say about Trimline treadmills these days. They’ve had a decent reputation in the past several years in the $1,200 to $2,700 price range, but there have been some shake-ups recently that make things a bit unsure.
Changes Past and Future
Trimline is a company that has changed hands several times, at one point even becoming an employee-owned entity.
Now it’s owned by Nautilus and there have been talks that more restructuring within that company may affect the future of Trimline treadmills.
It would be a shame, really, since the company hasn’t done half bad considering what it’s been up against. These treadmills won’t change the fitness industry, but Trimline machines give a reasonable performance in the price range.
There’s also plenty of choice, with eight Trimline models currently offered. This changes fairly frequently, however, as some treadmill models are pulled from production and others are added.
This is probably another side effect of the constant ebb and flow in management and ownership styles. It’s one reason we can’t give Trimline the whole-hearted endorsement we’d like to.
There’s just too much chance you’ll run into problems getting replacement parts down the line when treadmill models are discontinued frequently.
Good Bones
UPDATE: As we expected, Trimline is now out of business. If you're looking in the $1200-$2700 range check out our Top Picks for a suitable model.
Nautilus has made sure that the essentials are made well in all Trimline models. They all have strong decks, heavy gauge steel frames and respectable motors. These are the bones that make up a quality treadmill.
Trimline 4650 Folding Treadmill Parts
Unfortunately, to save a bit on cost, the skin (that is, the trimming) isn’t quite as good on these treadmills. The electronics are okay, but do tend to be a bit slow to register readings and you may run into minor maintenance problems after a few years. You also get a bit more noise with the Trimline brand than you do with other treadmill brands in this price range.
The warranty, however, means that you won’t have to pay through the nose for repairs. With 30 years on the motors and frames and 3 years on parts, you can get quite a few good years out of Trimline treadmills before you have to worry.
